taaron76 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 (edited) The top of the radiator is hitting the hood, so I'll pull it out tomorrow and fix it so it sits flat... didn't notice until I put the hood on. Tim Edited May 5, 2015 by taaron76
Kenny B Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Tim, Very nice build love the colour. Those darn rad caps. Ken.
Stray Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 She came out slick as Tim. Very nice and clean finish. A few wires and hoses can really make a difference to a build hey? Awesome job bud. Was a pleasure to watch the process.
taaron76 Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Thanks guys! A few wires makes a huge difference. This one was a fun build. Tim
Lovefordgalaxie Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I like it a lot. What a beautiful paint, and nice engine detail.
microwheel Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Well done Tim buddy, ya stuck with it and gave it lots of love and attention, and the final outcome was a outstanding build.
Helix Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Tim, this is very nice mate, one of the cleanest 67 Chevelle's I've seen...well done
Guest Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 She is a beauty! One little bugaboo, on a factory stock Chevelle, the wheel wells, firewall and radiator wall would be semi gloss black.
peekay Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Clean and shiny, just the way I like 'em. Crisp photography too.
mustang1989 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 (edited) What an outstanding turn out of a build Tim! You've got this whole paint finish thing down I'll tell you that!! It's "show time"!!! Edited May 4, 2015 by mustang1989
taaron76 Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Thanks everyone! As far as the firewall/engine bay and radiator support... I typically paint them the same color as the body, vice semi-gloss black. It's just a personal preference of mine that I think makes it look a little better. Thanks again for all your comments and compliments! Tim
taaron76 Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 A couple of daylight/sunshine pics to bring the metallic out a little. Tim I still haven't decided if I should put the chrome pieces on the rockers below the doors. Thoughts? Tim
10thumbs Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Hi Tim, super clean build and the Rallye wheels look great. What was on the rockers anyway? A single chrome strip would be OK on your model, my opinion. What did the real car have? i have to say too, even though it's a GM car, the body color under the hood looks real good and gives some light for details there. There are some very nice details there and more visible now. Good idea. I'm a Mopar guy and that's why I like body color under the hood. Very nice detailing too underneath! PS: As I'm writing I remember now something. Didn't this car have chrome trim around the fenderwells? That would maybe be something to ponder, and if so it may really enhance this clean build. Michael
taaron76 Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Michael, There is a chrome molding piece that covers the rockers, but I believe they also had chrome molding around the fender edges as well. I could still add them and BMF the fenders, but don't want it to be too cluttered. Decisions... Tim
taaron76 Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Here is a blue '67 with the chrome rockers and without fender trim. Another one with both.
10thumbs Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 OK, I can follow you. So, what I see is a clean build with a clean body, no chrome extras other than the hood ornament. Bumpers and trim is all correct, windows too. Nothing in the middle other than the the window trim to be seen, and this is above the middle line. Either the rockers, or the fender strips. Tough decision. The wheel wells could use a touch because the wheels are so cool. Tough call. Michael
