squirrel886 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I saw this on my FB newsfeed...........the poster stated it was a third quarter release. Can anyone confirm?
Nitro Neil Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 It's a "fantasy box" currently for sale on eBay Canada. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CUSTOM-MODEL-BOX-for-1-25-REVELL-So-Cal-32-Roadster-Belly-Tanker-Salt-Flats-Dry-/252110354464?hash=item3ab2f2b820
Toner283 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Too bad. I believe that a properly scaled, accurate belly tank model would sell very well.
squirrel886 Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 I agree. It's something I've been wanting to build for a long time now.
JTalmage Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Dang talk about a let down. That would be a COOL kit to see come to market! Everyone here seems to love the old 32 highboy, and I thought I saw a thread recently about a LSR car that doubled as a belly tanker car and a front engine dragster.
Chuck Kourouklis Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 One way to avoid the letdown, gents: pay attention to Revell's current style in box art, then realize the fake box is nothing like it.Pity, too. The Deuce is nearly all there in current Revell patterns, and I'd bet the belly tanker's at least as safe a bet as the recent midgets.
JTalmage Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Oh definitely, box art was a dead give away... still a let down. Can anyone tell what kind of tires on on the deuce? Rears look like cheater slicks... I love the wheel/tire combo on it...
Mr. Metallic Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Oh definitely, box art was a dead give away... still a let down. Can anyone tell what kind of tires on on the deuce? Rears look like cheater slicks... I love the wheel/tire combo on it...Cheater slicks, very similar to what came in the Rat Roaster
oldcarfan Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Maybe someone could forward this to Revell along with all the positive reaction. They've already got the start of a '32 in their current '32 kits. Just need the bellytank. I'm getting tired of making my own! Lol!
Dave Van Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) Is it April 1st already? It's due out April 1 of never!!! Same day this kit came out....... Edited December 8, 2015 by Dave Van
wayne swayze Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Yes! I'd love a double kit of those cars! It would be great if Revell brought this kit to the public.
Rob Hall Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) Since we are late in the 4th quarter now, and it wasn't in the 3rd quarter flyer...that should be enough to know it wasn't real. Would make an interesting kit. I'm surprised So Cal Speed Shop hasn't done a deal w/ a kit maker for some merch..they've done diecast w/ Hot Wheels IIRC. Edited December 9, 2015 by Rob Hall
dodgefever Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I wish it were real. It's about time we had a belly tank and the '32 is a BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH sight more appealing than that Rat Roaster abortion. I'm not much into buses, but I'd go for a Scenicruiser.
dodgefever Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Good grief, the board software censors d-a-m-n? Unbelievable.
horsepower Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 It's due out April 1 of never!!! Same day this kit came out....... this would never make it by the nit picker crowd, it's blatantly powered by the wrong engines, definitely not mouse motor small block engines.
blubaja Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Can't wait for Revell's lawyers to contact this guy about the money he's been making off of their name lol. What a putz,
Dave Van Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 WHERE do I send my cash!!!! I'd even settle for a MC-9....it would be cheaper to tool.......
