Quick GMC
I bought the Top Studio PE weld lines to try a while back and haven't had anything to use them on until now. I just started the Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1 with the SMS PE set. There is a cup holder included in the detail set and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to try these. I was skeptical of the potential realism at first, but I am very happy with them. They are super thin, so you can easily bend them around any surface, and they don't stick up to make them look unrealistic. Hard to get them in the pic, they are so small. Here are the pieces. The PE bracket from the set, aluminum tube stock, and a couple of trimmed pieces of the weld line This was very trick to do, as I had to apply everything on a contoured surface without getting glue everywhere. This is the first time that base with the alligator clips came in handy. Tiny So for those of you that are looking to add detail to your custom cars, this would definitely be the way to go. Foxer
That makes a very regular, by a good welder, weld line. Looks good in the photos and price is pretty reasonable (saw $6-7).I have only used Archer's resin weld decals and they have a more random pattern. Mooneyzs
Those are Pretty Impressive... I just may have to pick up a set of them now. I did pick up some of the Archer resin weld decals a while back but haven't used them yet. But dang these Photo-etch welds look pretty amazing. Thanks for sharing this
Foxer
Cameron gave a great presentation on these PE welds and I'll be getting some. I don't want to butt in too much here, but I have one decent photo of the Archer resin weld decals for comparison. Both will have their place in my welding booth. I welded the doors shut on a dragster body ..

They are decals and apply just as regular decals but are resin "beads" on a clear carrier.Archer's resin weld decals Edited June 24, 2016 by Foxer
