dougwintz Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 (edited) Finally finished this off before the end of the New Year. Definitely a challenge, but fun. Did some "on the workbench" photos here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/119251-47-chevy-fleetmaster-galaxie/ Edited January 1, 2017 by dougwintz
bbowser Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 That's a beauty! Engine compartment details are outstanding.
carrucha Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Looks nice. Good work on the engine detailing.
espo Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Beautiful looking build. I would never have thought of using that color on that year model build, but really makes it standout.
dougwintz Posted January 1, 2017 Author Posted January 1, 2017 Thanks, guys. The color is tamiya clear orange over white primer.
dougwintz Posted January 1, 2017 Author Posted January 1, 2017 The only fitment problem I had was with the hood. Couldn't quite get that to fit tightly and I had the same issue with the panel van as well. At some point, I have to just move on.
D. Battista Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 You did a great job with the clear over primer...looks good on that car...!one of these days ...I'm gonna by one of these.....
Sixties Sam Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Really nice build! The color stands out just enough. Good work!Sam
CometMan Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Very nice, Doug! Those Galaxie kits are a challenge, but worth the effort! Would like to see more car subjects from them!
donb Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 That's a beauty! Engine compartment details are outstanding.Exactly the same thought.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 That is a cool looking car. The color is not my cup of tea, but it suits the overall look you wanted to get, kind of a very mild custom?Want this kit for some time, but those are hard to get here.
