Janne Herajärvi
Nice,i have been wondering is this kit any good? Cant wait to see more.. i might get one of those
Slotto
Thanks guys. This is the color of the kit right out of the box. It's like a teal/green. My plan is for maroon. The only thing I've done so far is set the rear axle for the ride height and cut off the doors. I haven't really gotten into the kit yet, so we will see how good it is as we move along. I couldn't pass it up. I found this at Hobby Lobby for $5 in a clearance rack. There was an identical one on the shelf for $17.
Slotto
Setting the ride height with popcicle sticks. Engine with all the plumbing attached. I used ear bud leads for the heater hoses and larger headphone lead for the water hose. Too cold here to spray paint here in the mid atlantic. Stay tuned... Day 2 Muscle
Looking good, never seen carbs plumbed that way. Â D2M
Slotto
After 2 1/2 years I'm finally back on this one. You're right Day 2, I got lazy with the fuel plumbing. Instead of researching, I just thought I'd wing it. I did my best to fix that. Thanks! A while back I bought a roll of shelf paper at the dollar store but wasn't sure if the grain would be too big. Whatcha think? I got some primer on the body and I painted up the grille. Stay tuned...
Geno
Sweet, another Poncho build. Gotta love it. Great job so far Steve.
Slotto
Thanks Gene. I've been bouncing between 2 cars this week. Today I managed to run in the fuel line and do a little with the firewall. This kit didn't come with a master cylinder so I pulled one from the parts bin. stay tuned...

randyc
Cool build. I have one somewhere. It's missing right now. Put it up for the winter and can't find it now.
doorsovdoon
I'll be watching this one, I'm doing the 2+2 version of this. Really nice cars these.
Bills72sj
I like where you are going with this. Following.
Slotto
I laid on some color yesterday then put on some clear this morning. Unfortunately it was too hot outside and the clear began to cure before it flattened out.
Spottedlaurel
Dashboard looks great, and the woodgrain has worked really well. Love the colour, don't you think the clear would polish out?
Slotto
I'm not sure of how to proceed. Sand with 3000, 5000 then polish? Edited July 20, 2020 by Slotto Typo

I would very lightly sand it with 1500 to knock the peel down a little bit. Add a couple more coats of clear nice and smooth.
Slotto
Getting closer to the finish line with this one. I'll be glad when it's off the bench. She's giving me a mess of problems. I should have never cut off the doors. I totally forgot about the headliner so I picked up a roll of tan duct tape at the hobby shop last night. I'm pleased with it. Stay tuned... Bucky
It's looking good! I never thought about duct tape for a headliner. How easy is it to use on the curved areas?
Slotto
It wasn't as bad as you would think. It is very sticky though. I did it in 3 passes 1st pass down the center then the sides leaving a small overlap on each side. Note, no WILL need a sharp blade.
