HDDan Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 I started this one about 14 years ago. I pulled it out blew the dust off it and resumed construction. Please let me know what you think.
espo Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 I like that. The chopped top doesn't look out of proportion to the body and that isn't always the case. Great paint finish.
Snake45 Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Very slick looking! You can be proud of this one.
bbowser Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Very cool! Subtle changes that look good, not overdone.
HDDan Posted January 27, 2018 Author Posted January 27, 2018 I think the reason it came out so proportional is the way I kept the windshield and the back glass The same size. It took some very tender heating and bending of the"A" pillers I used the testors model masters black lacquer and clear lacquer. I should have used a primer because I ended up using 2.5 cans of the base coat. An extra $12. For educational purposes. I found out that lacquer doesn't like to be rubbed with synthetic clothes. I am quite pleased with the results considering this is only my second model. I have to admit that I cheated a bit I've help built and paint a few show winning 1:1 cars.
Smitty Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Your paint job does look really good on this one Dan, and I don't see what you've accomplished as cheating. You happen to have a particular skill that just happens to come in handy for model building!
HDDan Posted January 30, 2018 Author Posted January 30, 2018 A nice paint job with good gap and takeoff are harder to achieve on a model than a 1:1
