IMSA Motorsport Mustang

A kit I have had my eye on for some time finally appeared on eBay at a reasonable price and shipping costs, this is the 1995 issue of the Revell Motorsports Mustang.  Upon arrival it headed towards the top of the build pile and didn't disappoint.  Even the decals were a pleasure to apply, despite their 20+ year age.  Paint is Tamiya rattlecan and the build is box stock.  Goes well with its European counterpart, the Zakspeed Capri.

Beautiful build... both of them!  Clean work in both of these; they're quite a pair!

I remember building one years ago.  The white has dulled over the years so it is nice to see a fresh build.  Great job on both.

Yours looks great and so does the Zakspeed Capri. I built the Miller version 30 plus years ago. You're right, the kit was a pleasure to build. My skills were fair at best and it turned out OK for a shelf model. Alas, it did not survive storage and was accidentally crushed. 

Surviving image. The others are all gone too. Remember when you could buy kits off the shelf with beer advertisements?

Super build Paul, I built the Capri when it first came out. Ah Napier only there in late January, on a cruise from Sydney, great place!

Thanks Pat, glad you liked Napier, I've lived here for three years now, I'm originally from the UK. I wish I'd known you were coming, we could have caught up ?.

Nice work on the Mustang. You did a great job applying the decals. I'm glad to hear they have held up well as I have a 90s issue of this kit that I would like to build someday. I have also wanted to get my hands on one of those Zakspeed Capris for years. Your Mustang and Capri displayed together look awesome. Nicely done..

Hi, I’m thinking about buying that Zakspeed Capri and was wondering if it’s a curbside or has full engine detail like the Mustang?

The Capri is a curbside, but still a great addition to my collection.  I've heard that the Mustang details can be used under the Capri.
