cheyenne93 Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Scratch built this to put behind the 66 Suburban. Going to paint it to match. Had a lot of fun with it.
misterNNL Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Outstanding scratch built trailer ! Please post photos when finished. Thanks for sharing
misterNNL Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 I see a fair number of positive posts about builders wishing someone (anyone actually) would offer a travel trailer kit. Is there a person out there on these forums that has the ability to offer a set of computer generated set of plans that could be used by those with average skills to build their own trailer from scratch ? Now that would be a great service to a lot of builders. All we need is for someone to step up and do it. maybe the pieces could be done on one of the Krick Kut paper crafting machines that are being used to make some really amazing parts seen here recently.
espo Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Great looking trailer. Reminds me of a Scotts or Scottsmen brand Trailer from that era.
carrucha Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 Looks good so far. I am currently building the same kit. I plan on placing a diecast Shasta trailer behind it.
misterNNL Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Did you scratch build the windows as well or find them in another source ?
Marcin M. Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Scratch - the quintessence of model making. I admire.
misterNNL Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 I scratch build trailers as well if you PM me your email address I'll send you some photos of my stuff.I have built a 14' 1934 Airstream Torpedo, a 20 ft.Airfloat Navagator and some teardrops.Currently working on a 20 ft.Curtiss-Wright aerocar circa 1940.
cheyenne93 Posted March 13, 2018 Author Posted March 13, 2018 Thanks everyone for your comments on my camper post. Just waiting to mother nature to give in and warm things up, so I can get out to the shop to paint. N.Y. weather really sucks rite now!!!!
misterNNL Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Been watching the weather channel and it looks pretty nasty in the northeast today and tomorrow. Time to hunker down and just get through it. Trust me in six months this will all be gone!

What tool did you use to make the lines on the sides, and how did you keep them so even and straight? Is that .040 flat styrene? I have been wanting to build something like this for a really long time. i have interest in doing a diorama.
cheyenne93 Posted January 6, 2019 Author Posted January 6, 2019 No. So far have managed to get the frame painted. Ya know how that goes, LOL. Really hope the new year frees me up a bit got a lot of unfinished projects.
