I've got a bunch of Monogram Model A coupes, new and parts.

I also have an old NIB MPC '30's Chevy roadster kit .

Looking at a hot rod '32 Chevy coupe in the latest issue of Hot Rod Deluxe got me thinking.<_<

These two cars look an awful lot alike.

I was playing with the idea of grafting a MPC Switchers '32 Ford top onto the '33 Chev roadster body. Not a direct drop-on, but looks like it might be possible. I'd like to get a bunch of other stuff cleared off the bench before I start on it, 'coz I know how I am.

Just like today's cars. What goes around, comes around.

Should be an easy bit of surgery.

Looks like it could be done, with adjustments to the roof profile, belt line molding, A pillars, and visor.

This also serves to highlight why getting the right curves and dimensions is SO critical on a model A Ford coupe. If just a few things are off--boom, it's a Chevy!
