Started on a Cuda, but was immediately disappointed with the model quality, so I shelved that for this model. MVIMG_20180718_231213.thumb.jpg.bf91e6b28f68c768dd29f0f069d6312f.jpg

Decided to go with a metallic grape, with a white roof. Not breaking the creative meter, but my apprenticeship must continue before I start modding builds. I imagine I'll be heavy modding whenever I get a 3d printer. I finally found an affordable printer capable of 1/24 scale. MVIMG_20180722_201023.thumb.jpg.474b2cf7a9be586e42f422fbfbf94e38.jpgMVIMG_20180722_205450.thumb.jpg.379d2914a5ce0f2afb7582fa365442d0.jpgMVIMG_20180722_205458.thumb.jpg.fac5eabcffabb690bf3d333fef6df916.jpg

Liking that colour a lot, also like the '58 Chevy Impala and the whole concept of 3D printing interests me greatly. You will have a lot of fun with the build and the Revell kit should turn into a fine scale model car. The colour combination with the white roof is a good choice I think.

I like your color choice, is the top going to be Pearl White or a straight gloss White ? This is a great kit. I found the trunk hinge a little fussy but it works well once you get it right. Another suggestion on the body side chrome. Think about scrapping the chrome off the back side of the  moldings, this will let them sit deeper in the body and makes gluing easier.

i was thinking pearl white actually. this kit looks pretty solid but there are some significant flashing issues so my guess is that i will have to wrestle this kit together.

Update: more body work (pearl white roof). The kit came with red pin stripes, wasn't having it, so I flipped the decal over for a white pin stripe. worked well.MVIMG_20180813_025918.thumb.jpg.9a78ec1617e9cb5e952cbd3aeb23ac63.jpg

In the interior, I masked and sprayed the seats and doors, then dulcoated in order to give it a more accurate finish, without having to try to match the exterior. Also flocked the carpet using flat black as an adhesive.

Next is the clearcoat, can't wait to get rid of the orange peel.

Update: I've been away from the bench for a while here's an update of what I've done so far.

I used this stuff for the pearl top. No Bueno, doesn't stick very well even with acrylic primerMVIMG_20180906_225554.thumb.jpg.b484c6f6ac54d19a27901dadb9997f23.jpg

Sure looks good as you're nearing completion. What are you thinking on the Pearl paint problem you mentioned ?

Update: I think I'm done with this one. The model had issues with fit, I had to redo the paint job a couple times, and at a certain point my eyes started wandering to other models. Not overly happy with how it came out but here it is. And it is dead to me.
