Italianhorses Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 This one is finished! Thanks everyone who followed along. And a few before putting it into the case for good:
bbowser Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 That's gorgeous! Great work under the hood.
FabbricaP Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Beautiful build Alex, really like the clear hood
Tommy124 Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 A real beauty, Alex. Please keep ‘em coming!
peekay Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Fabulous! Beautifully built (and photographed).
da_ashman Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Great work Alex, Looks awesome! Dont see too many built with the bonnet left clear, which looks nice!
Italianhorses Posted October 1, 2018 Author Posted October 1, 2018 (edited) Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Turned out better than i thought, and I love the look of the finished model. Will make a great companion to my bayside blue GT-R 34! On 9/30/2018 at 12:38 AM, yura1961 said: Леша,отличная работа! Благодарю! Obviously you can have it painted, but its great to have this choice, surprised not a lot of other kits are made this way. Very cool to have a model on display and have this see-through-the-skin kinda effect. Will definitely build more this way. Thanks! Edited October 1, 2018 by Italianhorses
Italianhorses Posted October 2, 2018 Author Posted October 2, 2018 Question for the board - how can I copy a message with all the image links (not just embedded pictures)? Thanks.
Italianhorses Posted October 3, 2018 Author Posted October 3, 2018 Thanks guys. If anyone knows answer to my question above, I'd appreciate if you could share.
Dann Tier Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Beautiful work as usual, Alex!!….were you lucky with a really klear hood, or did you have to polish the heck out of it?
Rider Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Wow, that turned out really well, nice detailing.

Polished the heck out of it, but in all honesty, it was pretty clear to begin with. 3 hours ago, Rider said: Wow, that turned out really well, nice detailing. Thank you!

It does, and makes you think why more kit makers do not include hoods as clear parts. Such a simple way to add an option for a model builder. Don't like it clear - paint it just like a regular part. Wanna show off the engine - leave it clear. I'm definitely building more kits like this. Seems only Tamiya did this one several of their early releases.
beeRS Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Alex - this is stunning (as I have come to expect from you!). Lovely job.
Justin Porter Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 I'm still particularly impressed with all of the hard lines done in solder. The build looks fantastic and glad to see all of the little additions pay off on the whole.
olschoolkid Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 That is a nice Skyline. I think the Skylines/GTRs are probably the nicest cars to come from Japan. I enjoy the clear hood which gives an excellent view of the beautiful RB series engine.
