shoopdog Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 (edited) This is the older release of this kit, 98-99 maybe, directions say copyright 1998 if that means anything. Waited and waited for Revell's reissue but gave up when Hobbico filed for bankruptcy. Just bought the new release last week and used the black Daytona stripe from the new kit as the old kit decals fell apart when trying to use them. Also used the new kit red lines as the old kit tires looked like a drunken sailor printed the old ones. (LoL- that's what Mr. Obsessive had stated in an earlier post). Will be building the new kit as the stock car. Painted Tamiya Candy Lime Green, missed the factory color I was going for, but I like the way it turned out anyway. First pic is color I was going for..... Edited January 6, 2019 by shoopdog
Hmann68 Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Super clean Daytona! The black tail looks great against the green!

Brutalform Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Very nice Mopar. That color is beautiful, and laid on nice. I love those redline tires.
Sport Suburban Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 That is beautiful. I built the original issue and the decals were brittle even then. I have one more of the Pro Modeler version and I'm sure the decals are toast now.
SoDak1 Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 An outrageous car sprayed with punch me in the face antifreeze green. I like your style sir
shoopdog Posted January 8, 2019 Author Posted January 8, 2019 Thanks for all your kind replies, can't wait to start on the Daytona stocker!
Tommy124 Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Great model! Glad I could grab one of the re-released kit lately...
Snake45 Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Very nice! The color's a little lime-y but when the build is this clean, who cares? Well done and model on!
shoopdog Posted January 24, 2019 Author Posted January 24, 2019 Thanks everyone, it really is rewarding to receive such wonderful comments from this community.
MrObsessive Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 Super slick and clean! One of Revell's BEST kits! Much better than the MPC one that's been around forever. I actually like your shade of green better than the 1:1! Suits the car better IMO.
