spencer1984 Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 Built from Fujimi's Daytona Speciale kit with a few alterations to look like Sonny Crockett's ride from the first two seasons of Miami Vice. The changes include deleted wing windows, square headlights, square mirrors, and a car phone. I didn't want to go full "kit car" (as represented by the Revell kit), but I did like the idea of the car being personalized over the years. A full writeup of what went into this build is available here, any comments/criticisms are welcome!
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 (edited) Beautiful clean build. Interesting to see kit-car elements added to a Ferrari. It's usually the other way around. I missed a real one back in the 1980s for $30K, and I've been kicking myself ever since. Edited January 17, 2019 by Ace-Garageguy
Phildaupho Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 In total - very well done, especially the interior and engine compartment. I like the fact that you built it to represent the illusion portrayed on TV that it was a real Daytona with a V-12.
spencer1984 Posted January 17, 2019 Author Posted January 17, 2019 Thanks, guys! 35 minutes ago, Ace-Garageguy said: I missed a real one back in the 1980s for $30K, and I've been kicking myself ever since. Ouch! it seems like there's always one that gets away.

Intmd8r Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 That's got to be one of the nicest builds of this kit that I've seen.

spencer1984 Posted January 25, 2019 Author Posted January 25, 2019 Thanks! That was such a cool scene, I just watched the pilot before starting this build and it still holds up 34 years later.

Watched that show every friday night. Some iconic 80's going on there Great car build, Bill. Thanks for the nostalgia Edited January 25, 2019 by Twokidsnosleep
