<profile removed> Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 (edited) Curbside/shelf model. No engine or chassis details. Scratch built front spoiler. Back window was...a "bear" (Kodiak bear pun...oh, never mind ☺) Edited December 22, 2019 by AMC ROB
Dave Van Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Nice work!!! I have a JNJ 2+2 kit on hand but waiting to see Salvinos kit....maybe easier.
<profile removed> Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 Thanks! This is a JNJ conversion kit (nose and back window) I've had sitting forever. I finally got around to piecing it together. I did not use the JNJ vacu-formed deck lid, though. I modified the trunk myself with putty and, believe it or not, a section from a plastic easter egg. The grille screens are also not included with the JNJ pieces...so I painted some 3M medical tape and cut it to shape. It seems to have a fairly appropriate scale grille texture. I'm sure the purists here are cringing, but I think it looks ok on the shelf.
bbowser Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Great looking model! Rusty was one of my favorites back in the day.
SCRWDRVR Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Very nice!!! I’ve never seen the Pontiac aero coupe in a kit, I like it

I see a resin body on ebay right now but I'd rather convert like you did.
Vietnam Vet67 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 I was in Vietnam in 1967 as part of the 70th Combat Engineer Battalion and our mascot was the Kodiak Bear. Go figure!!!!!!
Old Coyote Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Outstanding build sir. I understand that those old JNJ conversions can be quite challenging. Looks like you conquered yours beautifully.
Heartattaq Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Gorgeous work, I always love seeing Rusty models. My favourite driver all time.
