Snake45
You had me all excited until I read 1/18. It sure it pretty, though.
Safire6
Thanks Snake! It looks a lot like my 1:1 1972 TR6. Guess that I should have posted it in the diecast section though.
ibj40
Nice model. I have one in the box, waiting for me to turn it into a racer.
swede70
Looks beautiful... For long there was a low-cost 1:18th scale diecast TR6 out there done by Britains Collectibles that was reasonably good, although not standard-setting. The Minichamps release depicted here looks far better. It's nice to know some firm has finally stepped up and done honor to the topic. Thanks for sharing... Safire6
Thanks everyone! It is very accurate for a '73 model. I wish it had the wheel trim rings that my 1:1 '72 USA spec car has and the TR6 emblem (instead of the Union Jack) on the rear wing, but I cannot complain. Even the color is spot on my 1:1 car. Only 350 made of this particular model. An opening bonnet and detailed engine would take this diecast to the next level.
Anglia105E
That is a very nice looking model indeed, Steve......... extremely accurate and realistic. My collections include 1:24 and 1:43 scale cars, so not the 1:18 scale, but that TR6 is so good, that I want one! You are lucky to own the real 1:1 version of this fine motor car, which was the last of the TR's before the TR7 was produced ( not everyone's cup of tea really ! ). Back in the mid - seventies I used to work for a Jaguar / Rover / Triumph dealership, so I was very familiar with the parts catalogues and seeing the TR5 and TR6 in the workshop on a daily basis. Safire6
Thanks David. I also have a 1:43 scale TR6 from "Detailcars". Got it a long time ago and somewhere along the way I accidentally broke off the side view mirror. See pics below. It looks like there still may be a yellow '73 available from Target, the same online store I got my 1:18 sapphire blue one from: https://www.target.com/p/1973-triumph-tr6-convertible-lhd-yellow-limited-edition-to-402-pieces-worldwide-1-18-diecast-model-car-by-minichamps/-/A-75466779 Ever since I was 15 years old and saw a TR6 for the first time in Cincinnati, I wanted one. I've had mine for about 30 years now I like the looks of the TR7s and 8s, mostly the fixed head models. I had a chance to buy a really nice white TR8 fixed head about 10 years ago. Couldn't afford it at the time and I regret it now.
Anglia105E
Thanks for the link, and I had a look at that one...... I think the TR6 looks better in Sapphire Blue than in yellow, although I don't have a problem with yellow cars. The price comes out at around £100.00 GBP, which is roughly what I would pay for a 1:24 scale Danbury Mint diecast, but the shipping from USA would make it a bit too pricey for me, although not as expensive as shipping from Canada. The 1:43 scale TR6 looks good also, and I am always fascinated by the amount of detail they can get into such a small scale. The Minichamps models are well worth the money, and I have several in 1:43 scale, including a very nice 1956 Bentley S1 Continental.
