cobraman Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Resin parts mixed with plastic kit parts . Not sure who made the resin parts but they were pretty nice . Mixed with several parts from the AMT 60 Ford kit . Gave me some figment issues but kind of happy with the results . Is a sort of replica of the first car I owned but mine was a 4 door . There are other differences but the color and wheels and tires are correct as is the interior color . Close enough for me . Not my best work but I guess it could have been worse . I need to find the oil filler neck that is hiding at the moment .
1930fordpickup Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 This is Nice Ray. Job well done and a nice way to end the year.
afx Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Interesting color combination Ray, I like it. I'm sure it looked even better on your 1:1.
cobraman Posted January 1, 2020 Author Posted January 1, 2020 Thanks guys. I wish I could have found one of the 4 door resin bodies that were available a few years ago.
RichCostello Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Nice, my 1st car was a 63 Ford with that square roof. I'd like to build one, but I don't know where I'd find the body to do it.
Dann Tier Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 NICE, RAY!!!!!.......VERY impressive how you chromed that script!!!
TooOld Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 I like it Ray , nice looking old Ford ! I had a '62 also but it didn't look half that nice .
Plowboy Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Nice looking Galaxie Ray! To me, there's nothing cooler than a model built like an actual car that was once owned or remembered. It gives them more "soul" IMO.
Brutalform Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Came out fantastic Ray. After the little problem with the seat, it was worth it. I like how you removed the paint from the valve cover lettering. I loose many of those filters myself. By the time you sand the mold lines off it, and get the cap to look right, I just make my own anymore.
Mike999 Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 That looks great and I see plenty of stealable ideas! Brings back memories, I spent much of my childhood in a '62 Galaxie 500. Also a 4-door, Wimbledon White with that spiffy red-and-white interior that looked sort of like tuck-and-roll. My best friend's family had the same car in tan. Like yourself, I've been trying to find a resin 4-door body for years. I have a resin 2-door hardtop and occasionally think about converting it.
cobraman Posted January 11, 2020 Author Posted January 11, 2020 Thank you so much guys. There was a resin 4 door available at one time but after searching for one for a long time I settled on this 2 door version. Thought about converting it to a 4 door but I knew I would just make a mess of it.
mustang1989 Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 Very cleanly built lil' Ford there Ray! Absolutely stunning man.
