Porsche 911 GT3 - Tamiya 1:24

Here's my third scale model, which I've just finished. I was lucky enough to drive a few laps in a 996 Turbo at a track day many years ago - 420 bhp, 4WD, still grinning ?? - and the GT3 is visually close enough to keep the embers of my memory burning! It’s painted with Tamiya rattle cans: the body colour is TS-17 with TS-13 clear lacquer. Whilst it’s a fun kit to do, I didn’t enjoy having to fully strip & restart the bodywork near the end of the build! (For anyone interested, the saga is on my WIP thread.) Thanks for looking ?

Good looking Porsche, you got a nice shine on that silver.  And nice interior. Always nice to see that before the body goes on.

Pete this is an awesome looking build. I have been wanting to build one of these myself.  Great job on the striping and repaint by the way..could never tell there was a mishap.  I have done this myself, and you are right, it takes numerous attempts to get it all off, even with brake fluid.

Thanks Scott ? If you do get around to doing this one, I'll be first in line to see it: the Nissan you've just done is really something! Good to hear from with someone who knows the ordeal/stench of brake fluid stripping ?

My favorite generation of 911! Very cool build. It’s hard to believe it is only your 3rd model. You look like an old pro!

Thanks Jacob! ? Yeah, I totally agree - the 996 is right up there for me too ?

Lol, thanks Pete.  And I hope neither of us have to strip one down again, but you know it is bound to happen.
