Plowboy
Very cool idea! I know it would take some work. But, I would stick with your original idea of using the Chevy rear fenders. It would really tie it together perfectly. I just went through that issue with my '48 F-1 Phantom (convertible nose on the pickup). It was extra work modifying the convertible's rear fenders. But, when I stuck them on the bedsides, it was worth it.

dino246gt
I started one, but I made the body into a 2 door, used the Chevy rear fenders too. That was more difficult than fitting the front clip! Edited February 19, 2020 by dino246gt

'49 Chevy 3100 Suburban Woody IFS vs I-Beam Checked out the Bagged IFS from the Phantom Vickie! Looks like a good choice for the front suspension! Kit Karson
There's another part to this build... the '49 Chevy 3100 Suburban Woody is going to be the tow vehicle for the Woodpecker Speed Boat: So, do you all mind if I add the Woodpecker Speed Boat to the coverage of the '49 Chevy 3100 Suburban Woody build? -KK
Modlbldr
Not at all! I will be taking notes on the speedboat. I have a similar idea in progress using the 40 Ford Sedan and a modified Hemi Hydro boat. What boat are you using? Later-

espo
I welcome the addition of the boat. The two go together naturally anyway. I did something on a much less ambitious scale with the Revell '66 Chevelle Wagon and a Hemi Hydro. I like how you're doing the deck on the boat. I'll have to try that when I build the next boat. Kit Karson
Got to stick some inner-fenders under the hood of the woody: Most everything fits... And, just a little trimming and the chassis should slip right into place! -KK
