rv1963 Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Here are a bunch of pics of my junk yard i finished it about a year ago it's my first and only diorama, it doesn't really tell a story but there are a lot of little details to see and it should keep you busy for a few minutes finding them. Any and all comments welcome and yes i know the spider is a little out of scale think of it as a large tarantula.
diymirage Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 it looks good nice weathering where did you find the short block ? i've been meaning to build a garage diorama and that would look good in it
rv1963 Posted October 10, 2008 Author Posted October 10, 2008 Thanks, i wish i could tell you where the engine came from but i just pulled it out of one of my parts boxes it was in there for several years.
Eshaver Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Dang R V that looks lika Mesquite tree thar. seems to have come out well, now go take it to the INTERNATIONAL PLANE AND TANK SOCIETY contest, hell, the;ll think its a ship , naw I Like it but then hey, I build gasoline pumps and have the audacity to show them there too! Ed shaver
Mike Whatshisname Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Looks great RV. I like the spider. Not too big from where I can see. Like you said...a big hairy tarantula. I like the details and the weathering. The only thing I would suggest is to make sure you drill out the hub and lug nuts when displaying a wheel that is disconnected from a car. Well done!!!!!!
Harry P. Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 That's pretty cool. And I like the "junkyard dog"... nice touch!
rv1963 Posted October 11, 2008 Author Posted October 11, 2008 Thanks guys, that's a good idea with with the lug nuts i will remember that.
62SS Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Nice Diorama. Weathering is perfect. Great job. Ed
BigGary Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 My first thought when I looked at this dio was, "Its an abandoned street rod project". The detail and weathering are outstanding! All the elements are there, extra engines, rusty chrome wheels, other hot rod parts sitting around. Great job. Gary
rv1963 Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 Thanks Gary it was a fun build and i will try to improve on the next one which i am working on now i think it will be called the muscle car junk yard it will have 3 cars in it you may have seen the first one i posted in on the bench it's a Baldwin motion Camaro.
Geezerman Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Lotta great details in there. Great little composition. Nice work.
joe messer Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Thanks, i wish i could tell you where the engine came from but i just pulled it out of one of my parts boxes it was in there for several years. i think it was in 1966 nova prostock kit

Kodiak Island Modeler Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 You did a nice job of weathering the car. It looks like it's from the southwest.
