69H.O.Firebird Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 I’m calling it done. This thing kicked my butt. I replaced the seat post so it would be at a more natural level. Also replaced the cables with proper colored wire and at a more scale thickness. I chose the seat stripe without filling in the pleats. Looks kool.
GRiN Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 now that's cool. great color and the chrome looks very nice. Gary
Dave Van Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 Nice work!!!! I had a AMF Fantastic One in orange....wish I had it still.
TarheelRick Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 Very nice looking bike, those came out a few years past my bicycle riding time. What scale is this? Is that a "racing slick" on the rear?
cobraman Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 Looks very good. I built one a few months ago and have been thinking about doing another.
69H.O.Firebird Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 (edited) TarheelRick, Yes it is a slick and it is 1/8 scale. Thanks for all of the nice comments everyone! Edited March 16, 2020 by 69H.O.Firebird
RancheroSteve Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Best looking one I think I've seen so far. Replacing the cables made a huge difference.
unclescott58 Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 Wow! Looks great. I like it. I've have the Apple Krate version in my pile. Waiting for me to build up the courage to attempt to try building someday. I've heard so many stories about how hard these kits are to build. I'm more than a little intimidated by it. It's nice to see how beautiful your's turned out. I hope I do half as well when I build mine. Great job.
