2zwudz Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 Can Pledge Future clear coat be painted over for stripes and graphics? Quote
Snake45 Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 I wouldn't recommend it. You never know if it's gonna pull up with your tape, and even if it doesn't, if you have to remove any masking residue, almost anything you use to take it off will also remove the Future. It's fragile stuff. Yet another reason I don't use Future much if at all anymore. Quote

CabDriver Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 (edited) I do it all the time with acrylics and enamels... This build required multiple layers and lots of masking in between layers and the Future makes for a good durable intercoat: Works great for me! Edited March 28, 2020 by CabDriver Quote

Roadrunner Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 I'd assume it wouldn't be any real problem. Quote
peteski Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 I don't think wear-durability is the problem. The problem might be compatibility with solvents used in the paint applied over it. The solvent in the paint applied over Future can get absorbed into future, possibly causing it to wrinkle or worse. Basically the same possible problem experienced when using layers of multiple brand paints on a model. I have never tried this combination - just thinking out loud here. Quote
