Spruslayer Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 (edited) Heres a fresh build from the dungeon, paint is Testors purple met flake over black primer.I did'nt like the fit of the kit front tires on the rims so i used some tires from the extras box, lowered he rear about .03 and the PE is from Model Car Garage. The engine detailing is from various wire and turned a coil out of steel.,dont care for the plug wires though cause they scale out at almost .75? I was pleasantly surprised with the detail in this AMT kit for a change. Commits welcome and thanks for lookin! Edited July 10, 2020 by Spruslayer photos
espo Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Great looking build. I like the color as it goes with the general theme of the build. Your must have been one of the earliest kits since you have the stock rear body and tail lights. I have a reissue I picked up and the stock rear end does not seem to be in the kit any longer.

Didn't know that. The Revell PS '67 Chevelle has always had a non-stock rear end from day one, but I wasn't aware AMT had changed theirs. Sure you're not thinking of the Revell kit?

Im not sure how old this kit is,it came from Megahobby's scratch and dent section about a month ago Thanks to everyone for the comps!

I suspect David has the Revell and AMT kits confused. AMT always had stock and Revell always had a custom rear panel.

That's how the kit has always been since it was originally released back in the '90s Mike. You did a great job on it and the color suits it well.

Thanks guys, my bad. Mine is the Revell Street Burner '67 Chevelle. I didn't even realize that AMT had a Pro Street '67 Chevelle. I only knew of their stock version.

All four of those kits came out about the same time--the two stockers first, the two prostreets not long thereafter. Early '90s. (Hard to believe that was almost 30 years ago, huh?)

An old saying "I would have taken better care of myself if I had known I would live this long". Becomes truer every day.
