Painted Perfect Match Med Blue Met . This was the third time I built or tried to build this kit . The other two times were many years ago when this kit was much younger and so was I . They say the third times the charm but I discovered this does not apply to model kits . Try as I did I could not get the tilt front end to fit let alone function . Not my best work by far and I will admit to just getting frustrated and just want the pain to end . So ..... here it is with all its warts !

You not alone when it comes to this kit. The front end is just wrong, from the peaks on the fenders, to the missing body contours. I think you did an amazing job considering these things!

Thanks fellows. I really wanted to win this third round with this kit but I failed once again. There was one posted here not long ago that was built very nice but he had more talent than me. ?

I don't think you failed at all , it looks great !  My experience with tilt front ends is that none of them fit regardless of the kit . :D

Hey, Ray, you do what you can do with what you've got.  Display it with the front end tilted up and no-one will be the wiser regarding the fit - that's what I did with my survivor coupe. We all know that the Revell Willys, both generations, are the better model but I aim to have one example of every pre war hot rod in my collection so the AMT's have to be in there.

What I do like a lot is the colour -  you did a superb job of applying it.

Cheers

Alan

Looks good Ray!  It's really frustrating when you put in the time and effort to try and make every model as good as you can, and end up disappointed.  But in the end it goes on the shelf or the case and sits there looking good!!

Considering the sow's ear you began with this turned into a mighty fine looking silk purse.  As was mentioned above I displayed mine with the nose tilted forward; BTW I made my own tilt hinge with brass tubing and wire.  That color really looks god, accentuates all those subtle curves of this body.  I do have more of these in my stash (one of my favorite kits - guess I am a sadist), and I plan on gluing the noses on and opening the hood as it is in 1:1.
