Mike999 Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 I found these 2 pictures on an old H.A.M.B. thread about police cars. They're 1960 Pontiac Catalinas, "mildly built" and equipped with roll bars, used by the Los Angeles Police Dept. A poster on the board said they belonged to the LAPD's special Freeway Pursuit unit. That unit was in charge of chasing down scofflaws on the freeways running thru Los Angeles, until the California Highway Patrol eventually took over that job.
kilrathy10 Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Now, that's unusual... Early technologies really intrigue me... Nice post...
Danno Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Note the add-on certified speedometer on top of the dashboard. The factory speedo is still in place under the dash shroud. Note also the aftermarket "racing" seatbelt. ??
