stavanzer
Good to see that Atlantis wound up with the '26 Mack Truck tooling. Now, maybe we'll get some of the others back. The dump truck has been getting hard to find. Too many of the 1/32 for my tastes, but maybe the snappers will attract new builders to the hobby. Motor City
I'm looking forward to the '57 Nomad, the '56 Buick and '56 Eldorado. The Buick and Eldorado will be nice to finally have with glass. Hopefully the '56 Mercury Montclair tooling still exists.
ChrisBcritter
No '62 Revell Mopars - in fact no Mopars, period; must be still working on licensing.
Mark
No Fords either. Give them time, they probably have to make a few bucks with the GM licensing and Tom Daniel and Ed Roth deals before going after other products.
horsepower
Looks like they have the lions share of the vintage Revell/Monogram kits, and if they keep to the prices posted they're cheaper than any of the other manufacturers. Must be because they aren't saving so much on having everything done in China.? Since they have the Nomad maybe they have the '56 Bel-Air sedan kit too, it might be hard to get everything to fit but it's the only Bel-Air sedan kit that was made it has a place in the market, not to mention it has a lot of good parts and pieces that can be used on other tri-five builds. unclescott58
In August I'll be lining up to get my 1971 Jungle Jim Camaro Funny Car. I assume it will be a repop of the old Revell kit. And I know, everybody tells me what a piece of BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH that kit is. But, it was one of first, and one of the few, funny cars I ever built back in the day. This time, even if it's molded in same blue plastic, as before. I'll be painting this one. And hopefully doing a better job with it than I did back in 1971. Dave Van
Was the announcement from Atlantis about the Round2 tooling they bought ever made??? It was said it was coming 4thQ 2020. Just wondering out loud!

Mark
Atlantis did acquire some ex-Pyro, Lindberg, and other items from Round 2. Not sure exactly what they got, maybe someone else will have more info.

larman
Having some experience with the Tom Daniel 1/32 funny cars, it looks like it would not take much to combine the 1/32 '71 Firebird and '69 Nova bodies with the f/c chassis for some cool variations. lordairgtar
I hope the little nova will have the stock hood too.
keyser
Wonder if they got the California Street Vette or what’s left? Lots of TD tools had to use without license: Rommel, Paddy, Red Baron,... Some big sellers in there from back in day.
Dave Van
I'd love to see a California TD Vette.......but that kit was modified so many times it would be easier to tool a new kit. When I was working with Revell and asked about it they thought it was tooled into the 4 door Vette.....most of the CA Vette stuff tossed. Rommel's was retained by the new Revell of Germany. Mark
I'm somewhat certain the chassis and engine from the Tom Daniel 'Vette are under the '66 fastback body now. The Corvette America (four-door 'Vette) chassis got cut down and reused in the Miami Vice faux-Ferrari kit.

Anyone looking for Monogram '26 Macks...years ago, Depot G Hobbies released the Stake and Tanker trucks in one box. A quick scan of eBay "Completed Items" shows that original '26 Mack kits sell for about the same as the $32.99 MSRP for the re-issued Log Hauler. The eBay sellers asking >$50 for their Log Haulers probably aren't too happy about that re-issue... I think for the former you'd be far ahead by starting with the 1/32 Camaro F/C kit, and modifying the nose as needed. But, yes, the Nova body could be stretched a bit to fit over the F/C chassis. I didn't realize the Corvette SS Hatchback and California Street Vette were concurrent issues back in 1980: I always assumed the 5-slot wheels used on the CA Street Vette were a separate insert, shared with the '55 "Chev" Street Machine (shown above the CASV, above), but the ET=X wheels on the SS Hatchback seem to have been a one hit wonder, now lost forever. I noticed the Nova has a '70s style hood scoop now, too, which, IIRC, it never had?: The 1/32 '82-ish Pontiac Firebird F/C Pepsi Challenger, is also slated for reissue, though I don't think there's been any announcement made regarding if it'll be a well-known/sponsored version or something generic, with aftermarket decals in the works: Edited February 11, 2022 by Casey
