raisin27 Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 Well I took the plunge and started my first new build in almost 10 years. Never built a modified stock car before and thought I would give it a go. This is going to be a Richie Evans #61 Pinto. Made a few body and chassis mods to get the front of the body lower, set the engine back an 1/8", and shortened the rear of the chassis 1/8th of an inch then filled in the sink marks. Just getting started!
Stingray wes Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Looking good, I like that kit. Will be following along.
raisin27 Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 Made some progress on the Pinto. Chassis is about done, I made the front coil overs from Some Pro Street Chevelle shocks with aluminum rod wrapped around it and fabricated a fuel cell from evergreen sheets. Working on the 427 motor next.
Penguins87 Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Looks good. You might inspire me to do the Vega Mod I got. Got it out of the closet 3 times and then put it back in.
raisin27 Posted December 25, 2020 Author Posted December 25, 2020 Made some progress on the Richie Evans Pinto. Motor is mostly done. I still want to make some oil breathers for the valve covers and i have to make an air cleaner assy. Still trying to find some orange paint for the body and waiting on the wide 5 rims to arrive in the mail.
Penguins87 Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Very Nice!! Reminds me of the day going to Five Mile Point speedway in Binghamton, NY
afx Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 (edited) Very nice. Where did you get the wheels and tires? Edited January 13, 2021 by afx
dragcarz Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Are you sure it’s been 10 years, I’ve been at this a long time and my builds don’t look this good......
Keavdog Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Stellar build! Looks fantastic. Well done. Plumbing is awesome
mustang1989 Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 This is a real treat to look at. I hope my eyes hold out long enough to build like this when I'm 65. Outstanding work Mike.
