Richard Petty race car hauler

Some more progress on the lower boxes and have the rear doors on now. Next will be to engineer the rear steps/ trailer hitch and build it. I don’t have any pictures so I’m going to do what I think they had.

Thanks Jason, and here’s some more progress. I finished my engineering and scratch built the stairs and hitch. I’m going to start on the cab next looking like I’m going to be able to do some spraying this week with our weather. I’m also working on how I’m going to build the trailer. The springs and axles are what I need to figure out how to do with what I have in my parts boxes.

Dan you snuck another classic Mopar build on me. Those guys didn’t have the money back then that they do now.

I guess I did Carl. I’ve been moving back and forth from trucks to cars.

Thanks Gator.

I built the front bumper and put a PE muffler guard on the stack. Also working on the windows, I like to make a grove on the inside for the glass to get a good fit up. It’s a tip that I saw here a couple of years ago.

That is really starting to look good, especially now that it has some Petty blue on it.

Thanks Jason it’s getting closer now.

Good progress there.

Thanks Hakan

I didn’t like how the front window molding looked so I replaced it with some new evergreen. Worked on my cab hinges also.

Thanks Jeff,

I’ve made some more progress painted the white section on the cab and added some work benches in the back. I’ve also received my Detroit 6-71 and started building it. I’m looking for the decals that comes with the Richard Petty Dart. I need the Petty Enterprise logo for the doors.

You work fast man, nice. B)

Thanks, check out today’s progress Hakan

I now have the stack done and the air filter plumbed up to the engine. I also worked on some of the trim on the cab. I need to paint the air intake Petty blue so I’m getting the Charger ready for the Petty blue so I can spray both at the same time.
