AMT Big Rig Semi Trailer

Recommended Posts

Here’s my build of the 36’ version of the AMT kit. Nice kit but much caution needs to be taken assembling the side panels. I would like to thank Gareth on the heads up tips for proper assembly. I ended up completely taping everything together and marking the side panels before final assembly. All in all not a bad kit. I don’t see why AMT couldn’t have included one extra tire for the spare carrier.

Hopefully soon it will find a permanent home behind my White-Freightliner that’s in my stash.

Good looking trailer... I like it... I have two of these in my stash... I only bought them because they were on sale, but your build makes me want to throw one of these things together... I did open one up to see what was inside, so I was thinking I could make it as long as I wanted with 2 kits... The decals are what I really like...But I was just throwing around a few ideas...

I really like your version, though... Very nice work... Great job, Man....

Nice clean build!  I'm assuming it's an older trailer from the 60's, probably would look even better behind an older era no frills  fleet tractor!

Thanks Tommy!

That turned out nice.   I might have to pick one of these up.

Looks nice, Keith.  I have one of these in the stash as well.  Thinking of making it the 18' P&D trailer for the Dodge L700 as I'm not sure the L700 could actually pull a 36' trailer let alone stop with it!

Looks amazing, and you got the side panels in the right place unlike mine! It is a great trailer, I too don't know why they didn't include a spare tyre in there and yeah, those instructions! Glad I could help, it turned out looking perfect.

Much appreciated Gareth and thanks again!

Not sure  of what GVW package the L 700 kit represents, but, the heavy duty 27.5K version with the 413 and 11k front and 18.5K rear axles with full air is rated for 50K combined weight. I think your good to go!
