kruleworld Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 For 1976 Australian driver Alan Moffat imported a DeKon Monza to Australia and won the inaugural ASCC in 1976 in the Group B Sports Sedan Modified championship. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Sports_Sedan_Series To recreate this about 3 years ago, i started with an MPC street Monza and mated it with the chassis from a Folger's Mustang (Revell) The decals are from Pattos Place and were really good. Overall, its a good combination worked out well to build as a race car. 1
Dave B Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Great build Walter, I saw this car race in Tassie. Dave B
Can-Con Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Love it. Not often you see an actual racer built out of a Monza kit, usually just street versions.
'70 Grande Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Really like this build; it replicates the 1:1 very well! I've always liked these Monza race cars; have my own freelanced build of one in-the-works... your great-looking build might inspire mine to find its way back onto the workbench!
Bainford Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Cool build! Great period style and nice replica, too.

afx Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 Nice work. I have a stalled build of a Dekon Monza.
Phildaupho Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Very well done. I have seen a few DeKon Monzas at vintage events. I am very impressed with your build.
chris chabre Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 If I were to ever build a Monza in 1:1, itd be just like this. KILLER WORK
Gramps46 Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Very well done indeed. Thanks for sharing the photos.
