Zippi Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 (edited) This is the Revell 61 Chevy Impala SS. Paint was Tamiya TS-44 Brilliant Blue cleared with Tamiya TS-13 clear. I got half way through on putting the bmf on and it quit sticking. I finished out what I could with my Molotow chrome pen. Wheels and tires are out of the Revell 1956 Ford truck kit. None of the decals were any good. They would far apart when I would pick them up out of the water. Far from my best work but turned out ok. Edited November 29, 2021 by Zippi 1

happy grumpy Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Looks pretty good from where I sit Bob. BMF will go bad after a while. It either stop sticking or starts cracking all over. Despite that, you did a great job that blue really pops and that 409 sure looks amazing. I like the interior too. Thumbs up Zippi, keep 'em coming.
AMT68 Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 The paint and brightwork turned out beautiful. Interior and underhood are very nicely detailed.

stinkybritches Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Looks great, Bob. I definitely would not be embarrassed to have that on my display shelf.

papajohn97 Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Love bubble tops and this bright blue street machine is a real beauty. Your BMF/Molotow came out really nice. BMF quality has really gone down hill lately and I’m pretty much masking and spraying all the window frames and trim these days. I also have experienced cracking with AMT decals on most their kits, too bad because they look so great out of the box. This ‘61 Impala and the ‘62 Bel Air bubble-top are two of my favorite kits, they go together so trouble-free and look so realistic when done. Nice job!
tbill Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Glad you soldiered on and finished this one, it turned out great! Love the color scheme and the wheels look great on it, well done !
Safire6 Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Very nice Zippy! I have this kit in my stash but I robbed the alternate wheels and tires from it to put on a '66 Chevelle SS that I built for a friend. I have some BMF but so far I've been afraid to try it out so I've been "Molotowing" the trim on all my models. I hope that when I get around to building my '61 that it looks as good as yours!
bluestringer Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Turned out really nice Bob. Great job.

Zippi Posted November 30, 2021 Author Posted November 30, 2021 Thanks Chaz. I hate bmf when it won't stick. Picking my builds now that have minimal chrome trim.
Smoke Wagon Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Nicely done. Sorry to hear you had decal and BMF trouble. The Foose wheels go good with this one.
