Going to work on this here and there. I like to work on a couple projects at once.

Got everything disassembled, not too much breakage, but will need lots of sanding to remove old glue.

Anyone have extra parts, LMK.

Cool, I'll be following this. I'd like to find one some day. I did get a Magnum III in a similar glued up state. Got it all apart without too much breakage. but I need to find some wheels for it.

Note the builder didn't trim the stripe decals, the RH and LH indicators are still there

I've got one to redo too. Unfortunately, no engine though.

Are you doing factory style red/black paint?

I'm using the custom wheels from the AMT '65 Olds 88 annual on mine. A friend cast a couple sets of them for me.

It'll be interesting to see how yours turns out.

Oh, yea,  Pretty cool engine too. Someone was going to cast some in resin a few years ago but I haven't heard anything from it since.

I may build up a small block with some wild intake system for mine and use a tranny from a '69 kit on it.

Here's a link to the instructions on the Drastic Plastic Fotki site,

Wow, I realized I haven't posted any updates on the project for quite some time. I have only tinkered with it on and off, but have come to the realization that a glue bomb may never be quite the same as new. So I will make it close!

Here are a couple pics of progress, front clip is primed, but not shown.

I'm a Corvette model collector, and have always wanted to get one of these kits, but the prices have just been too high for me.  But I happen to be on eBay looking, and found a kit in pretty good condition and at a really good price, so I grabbed it before it was gone. See the attached pics.  The only thing the seller said was missing was the engine display case (no big deal to me), one side glass (figured I could modify a spare glass to fit) and the decals were bad (did plan on using them anyways).  The body just needs to be dipped to remove some green paint.  From the pics and his description, the rest of the kit is there (oh except the instructions, but I downloaded those).  I saw that yours and Steve Milberry's kits don't have the engine, if you're interest when I get my kit I can check with a friend to see if he can cast it and how much it would be.

You showed the pic you found online about the engine, and I found an interesting story about that, and why the Corvair engine ended up in the real car and the kit.  You can read about it here (it's about halfway down the page): https://www.hemmings.com/stories/article/1967-chevy-astro-i

I look forward to seeing more progress on yours and Steve's builds.

Steve A.
