StanGlover Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Here is my latest build, MPC’s 1980 Dodge Omni 024, from the “Silver Bullet” box art release. I built it box stock, with the lower front grille scribed open. This is a neat little kit that goes together very nicely. My only issue was the final fitment of the hood. I think if you cut down the radiator support and radiator the hood will sit better, but I didn’t want to risk breaking anything so I left it alone. Body is painted Tamiya Mica Red over pink primer, and the interior is Tamiya Dull Red. Dull red looks more brown in person than the dark red it shows in pictures but I’m happy with the look. Thanks for looking! 3
espo Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Great looking paint and all the trim looks very cleanly done. I like the way you did this and the other compacts you show from that era. 1
Phirewriter Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 There's one you don't see built everyday, looks excellent! 1
Maindrian Pace Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 I love these forgotten '80s compact kits, I have a few of them and this makes me want to add one to the queue. 1
Bainford Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 What a neat build. Definitely the nicest I’ve seen from this kit. Very nicely done. 1
89AKurt Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Good for you to build one of these. Nice job too. Someone I know just got one of the Shelby kits, now I'm thinking about getting it. ? 1
peteski Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Nice model of a long forgotten '80s car. I think this car was also sold as a Dodge Charger. My GF called it "Chargette". 2
