Jason R Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 So I fairly recently discovered Rays decals out of the Netherlands, and when I found that he had a set for an ‘83 / ‘84 Monte Carlo SS, I had to order a set. Using the latest release of Revell’s ‘86 MC SS kit, I got to work. Ordered the factory correct ‘84 Medium Dark Metallic Blue paint in a spray can from paintscratch.com, and sourced the wheels and exterior mirrors from the AMT El Camino SS kit. The interior is Tamiya Navy Blue from a rattle can. Finished it up a couple of months ago, and am very pleased with the results! 8
happy grumpy Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Just as your GNX, this one is great looking and the photography is on par with the quality of your build.
espo Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 I also just looked at your Buick build and being a previous owner of a '86 Mont SS let me say I appreciate your attention on this build as well.
spencer1984 Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Very nice! Having had a blue '84 way back when, it's great to see one of these done up right.
TransAmMike Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Looks great Jason. Really like it in that color?
Dragonhawk1066 Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 That looks pretty spot-on! I love that body style and have owned two in my younger days, a white one that got street machined and a black one that was left factory stock.
Michael Bentt Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Quote Quote Very nice. I expect not soon to see another blue interior with wood panels! Beautiful model from era past.
larman Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Very nice work! It is nice to see the earlier color combo.
ea0863 Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Came out great! I especially like the tire/rim combo and that unforgettable stance!

Those are from the MCG set. I usually hold down the parts I need with tweezers, and use a fresh xacto blade to cut them free. 1
