Bullybeef Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 (edited) Well I dug down and found this in the parts crypt. Figured I’d pull a smooth custom out. Mock up height is good, I may switch out the hood curtains for smoothy ones. Wheels are temp units to get the stance dialed. Most likely a curbside to fill a void in my display case haha. Early mock up had it channeled, we may revisit that look as well. Edited September 29, 2022 by Bullybeef Add photo 4
Vintage AMT Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 That middle picture is where it would be if it were mine, that just looks KOOL, 1
Slotto Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 I like the skirts. That thing looks a mile long. What is your choice of color? 1
David G. Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 The stance makes it look zoomie already, but maybe give it a little more of an aggressive look with just a bit of a rake? David G.

I have not even thought of colour yet haha, here is one that I built last year, currently residing at a friends as he wanted one of my builds in his cabinet. 1

David G. Not sure if you mean, tail up rake? That will take away from the desired tail dragger look. If anything the tail may go a bit lower.
espo Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Like the smooth Kustom look. One thing I noticed, and it may just be the angle of the picture, the hood looks to be at a different angle than the body lines. Having built one or two of these I remember the mounting of the Grill/Front Fenders/Hood all seem to be going at different angles just enough to make it hard to align the front end. The look I'm seeing in the photo, the second one, looks as if the hood starts going uphill from the firewall. I like the style you seem to be going for on this. 1
Calb56 Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 LaSalle grill? I love those on custom 36's. 1

It gives the car an aggressive appearance. Like I said, it's a different aesthetic. I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this. David G. 1

Thank you David the second pic is an attempt at channeling the body into the fenders so nothing in that pic is lined up, as it sits on my bench right now the hood line follows the body line fairly well, I will be massaging the parts to make them fit a lot smoother. I appreciate the tips though. I plan to get all the body lines smoothed out by the end of the weekend and get a shot of primer on to see where it will need more work. But the goal is smooth and slippery.

Paul Payne Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Looks promising so far! Any thought for an engine yet? And side pipes......................
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 One of my favorite kits, of one of my favorite cars. Keep her a-goin'. That black roadster is an absolute knockout. 1
