This is cool and something totally different. If only its followed up by his original, the McLaren F1 since the Fujimi is rather terrible.

Definitely getting one of these, just hoping it's the standard version and not the bewinged Lauda one. Agree with BVC500, really want them to do a full detail kit of the original F1.

I wonder how well this will sell? It’s Tamiya so will be a pleasure to build. I know I will get one. Glad to see Tamiya back to doing new cars recently. Cheers

It's not as if they've ever really stopped, just slowed to no more than one or two new 1/24 cars per year... NSX, Ford GT, MX-5RF, Mustang GT4, 240ZG, BRZ/GR86, Mclaren Senna, GR Supra, Nissan Z...

Still, not a bad selection, and understandable given the license fees that certain real-world vendors want... bring on the Tamiya GR Yaris I say...

best,

M.

You’re right. At the rate I build, 1 or 2 a year is probably enough. ?

Absolutely not my cup of tea. I wish Tamiya made a 280SL or a decent Jaguar e-type instead. A later (and correct) version would have been nice.

The t50 is an interesting choice and a very interesting car. That being said, I'm not sure how eager I am to purchase one. Same with the McLaren Senna... I get that it's the new model but I'd rather have a P1 on the workbench. A lot of the new hypercars are technical marvels but look like a disjointed mess. The t50 is probably the prettiest of the bunch.

Being Tamiya, I'm probably going to purchase it for the fun of the build. I'm currently working on the new Z (WIP thread soon) and it's so well engineered. It's a perfect slumpbuster when you don't want to have to continuously tweak and fettle a kit to get it to look right.

I do wish that Tamiya would continue developing kits of classic European cars like the Gullwing and the 90's classic car series. I bought every single one of those releases (some multiples) and would happily keep buying new ones.

Can't wait to see the parts breakdown on this kit, as they IMHO do lead the way in finding creative solutions to what otherwise could cause somewhat problematic assembly or painting issues.

Cheers & happy holidays to all.

I don't think so, that is a T50s, it's the track version of the car. None of the places I've seen have it listed with the "s". SpotModel is also pretty notorious for just grabbing an image of something to use as a place holder regardless to whether or not it's the correct model (or even year).

Lengthy and in-depth interview with GM talking Evo’s Harry Metcalfe around the T.50 design here: what the fans does, why no carbon wheels, and  where the luggage goes (clue… it can carry a lot more than you’d think)…

best,

M.
