James2 Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 (edited) First 40 Ford Pick Up I've ever built. If I ever do one again the doors and the tailgate will be glued shut! It seems the dash and the seat prevent the doors from closing completely and the hood hinge was impossible for me. Blame the color on Chuck and his Creamsicle 32, The wheels are from my stash and the rest is just different color detail paint and a little BMF. Edited February 23, 2023 by James2 8
happy grumpy Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Really cool. That paint job is stunning.
majel Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Fantastic paint job, really clean looking truck!
Joe Nunes Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 A very sharp looking model wearing a great color choice. Well done! ? Joe
XYHARRY Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 I can't stop looking at it. Great looking pickup. Interior blends well with the body colour. Wheels and stance are spot on. Engine and chassis are super clean. Cheers, David. ??
espo Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Love the color and the stance. Great looking paint and trim detailing. Were I to own an early Ford truck I would want it to look like this.
Slotto Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Super clean. Love the details. Is this the early iron release? I had troubles with my hood hinge too.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Very nice rendition of one of my favorite kits.
Kah puts Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Now that’s what a 40 Ford PU should look like, bravo ?
Kenmojr Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Looks pretty darn sharp. Is this a old Monogram kit?
Zippi Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Boy.....that's a Looker right there. Great color choice. I'm really diggin this one.
James2 Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Thank you for the encouraging words glad you all like it. It was a fun project to build. I decided to adjust the door panels so they would close properly. I just thinned them out and reattached them to the inner door. I’ll do the touchup and post later. This is the kit I used, $20 at a swap meet in Sharron Pa.
larman Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 Very well done! Great rake and excellent craftsmanship!
James2 Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 It wasn't the easiest fix, doing after paint. But at least the doors close now!
