Leica007
Did this on a 67 Mustang without hinges, but it should work if you have hinged your hood but it won't stay open. Used 1/32 tube from Evergreen and a sewing straight pin with the point cut off. I positioned the tube close to center and made sure the pin cleared everything. The nice thing is when you raise the hood, the pin drops into place on the radiator support. Hope someone can use this.

StevenGuthmiller
I've used this general approach in the past for a few builds, but I usually keep them towards the side so that they don't interfere with the radiator in any way. On my '67 Ford, it folds down along the driver's side fender. I did a similar one on my '65 Plymouth, but it folds along the radiator bulkhead instead. Since then, I've begun using a removable, magnetic hood hinge system instead for more realism. It can be displayed with the hood in the closed or opened position, or removed completely, without the need for hood props or actual functioning hinges. Bills72sj
That is way cool. I love all 3 methods. Steve's looks the best but would require more work/time. I work slow enough as it is.
ctruss53
This is great information! I have been just sticking a section of paperclip in there, and then storing it seperately. Losing it, and then having to cut up more paperclips. haha
