This is the Fruit Wagon without the fruit. I decided to build it box stock old school with wagon wheels. It was a bit of a challenge using those old instructions. I did have some paint issues but was able to get past them. This isn't my typical style but was refreshing to do something out of my comfort zone. Shhhhh, dont tell anyone but I'm considering building an airplane.

Thanks for looking

Looks great. I am a big fan of building out of the box and the challenge that sometimes presents to make it look good with just paint and highlighting.

I am here for you if you decide to come over to the dark side and do an aircraft!

You could do the aircraft version of a muscle car!

Great Build!

John Lee Pettimore. I love the reference.

Well of course with the age of the truck it would have been John Lee Pettimore the 1st.

Back of the truck need the barrel, a hundred pounds of yeast and some copper line.

I've been enjoying your recent plethora of Model Ts... this one is great.

I think if you try your hand at an airplane, you should stay with this Era and find a biplane.

LOL If his first aircraft is a biplane he will either be really good at any that follow or he will never want to build a plane again!

It takes a special kind of masochist to do biplanes. Believe me I know I have several.

A bit OT, but the Revell1/48 Scale PT-17 Stearman, at Ollies is a great First Biplane Kit. My first one went together without any rigging, and still stayed square and true.

Now, back to the Model T Fords.

I'm thinking something small. Not a bi-plane. Maybe a war plane with 2 props

OK since you said it planes are now OT for the thread!

What ever you decide make sure you do some serious research on the kit you are looking at. Can't go wrong with most newer kits but some of the old ones my have you questioning the sanity of any aircraft modeler. The old school Monogram, Revell and Airfix kits are cheap even in their new reboxed issues but although they can be built up into a beautiful model they can try your resolve t finish.

The one kit I recommend to all new aircraft builders is the Tamiya P-51B (the one I chopped up). It is a nice size, beautifully detailed without being fiddly, has a wonderful decal sheet for markings and the simple olive drab over grey camo let's you get used to spraying flat paints. Being an older mold but often rereleased it is inexpensive and easy to find.

Of course mine is chopped up but you can get an idea of the detail from the interior of the cockpit.
