ea0863
Ever since I saw the Corvette Astro II concept at their Bowling Green museum, I have wanted one in scale for my collection. Sadly, I have never been able to find a 1:18 or 1:24 diecast - which would have been my first and second choices. My third option is always to look for the unattainable as a scale model which I can build myself, however in this case - again no bueno. So, I was left with the only representation of this car I could find in the Italian toy manufacturer Sputofuoco and their 1:43 scale toy version. I picked up a beat up one online, and by combining it with some Vitesse Porsche GT2 rolling stock, came up with what you see here. A shout out to my fellow Corvette lover @ismaelg on this unobtainium concept car! Here is the actual car My Sputofuoco beater Cleaned up and Porsche side mirror added Got this one online for cheap because the display case was broken. Gorgeous rims and tires though! And after some Krylon X Metals2301 Blue, voila! I should probably paint the rims chrome, but they look so beautiful in two tone that I'm thinking of leaving it. I'm telling myself the actual car went through many iterations itself, so this one will just be the latest BTW; I have no idea if I'm posting this in the right place. After all, this is a bit of a model build, a little WIP, with some diecast and toy thrown in. Edited March 19, 2023 by ea0863

ismaelg
WHAT A HEART MELTING BEAUTY!!!! 💖 New contender/leader for my favorite of this year in the forum. That looks really, Really, REALLY good. Love it! The color is spot on. I am currently working on the Astro I and like you, I've been looking for this one in whatever scale. Another one I've been looking for is the CERV III which I have only found a resin 1/43 from France but quite expensive. I'll be looking for this one now. Thanks, Ismael

caapa
I have it by Politoys 1:43. It seemed to be the same casting only the wheels are more "toy-like". The spare wheel also missing. Repainted and detailed a bit.
