This isn't really a traditional WIP thread. It's more of a this-is-where-I-am-now-on-this-build thread. I hope you like it.

The kit is Tamiya's Monte Shell F40 Competizione from twenty years ago, repackaged with superb Cartograf decals and some photoetch parts. I got a great eBay deal on it ($35 shipped to my door) and really like both the F40 and this sort of racer. I'm not a superdetailer, so I just added a few things here and there, tried to get the paint right, and then started assembly. There are carbon fiber decals in places that I think look cool, though they may or may not be CF on the real car. It isn't without its flaws, but so far I think it is looking pretty good.

Very nice job...count me in too, I purchased this kit mainly because the packaging looked so good. I mean, Tamiya, Ferrari and cartograf, not withstanding, I thought it would make a neat shelf item. You did a great job on the paint and decals...it looks great. The only thing I have done to my kit as of now is open the doors. I will have to get back to one of these days. I'm looking forward to seeing yours done.....maybe that will get me going on mine.

FANTASTIC Curtis! Looks better than a shelf model to me though. It appears you are doing all the right detailing tricks to bring it to life. I too look forward to seeing it completed!
