I saw Waynes' work in a show in Orlando Florida and I tell you, you could stand there

for hours looking at his diograms, your eyes can't stand still.

Wayne, Are you going to Modelpalooza in October 1st?

First, you mean Daryl's work, not mine. And yes, I plan on being at Modelpalooza but It will most likely be just on Saturday and as a spectator rather than a participant in the show.

Guys...I just have to repeat my earlier comment....what a fantastic body of work! So many fine models I would love to have in my case....

Here's one more to keep the thread going.

This one was built in late 1969 and debuted at the 1970 Detroit Autorama MPC "World's Largest Model Car Contest". The chassis (with a different body at the time) won "Best Detail" at that event. The chassis was a working replica of a real 1.1 scale funny car that had what was called a "Hydra-Slide" chassis. Basically, a hydraulic ram could adjust the engine setback at any point prior to each run, allowing the driver infinite and immediate adjustment to track conditions as he pulled to the line. And yes, the feature still works on the model (as you can see below).

The second (Mustang) body as shown was completed a few months later as the original body (a 1970 MPC 'cuda) suffered the results of rushed bodywork (to complete the model prior to the contest) and was later written off as non-recoverable.

Here are a few photos and a link to the album with around 17 pictures of the model.

No problem Tyrone...there are a lot of people like me who are real into drag racing, so this is the place where we all hang out ;)

Wouldn't be cool if Gregg did a "Drag Race" filled magazine picturing the builds we see here and full of aftermarket items, kits, etc. geared to our interests? I, for one, would DEFINITELY vote for it!!!! B) B) B) B)

Tim B, there's only one thing that gives me a bigger grin than seeing a Hemi motivated Mustang. That's a model wired with thread !! Oh, I long for those days. Used it on my long lost Charlie Allen Dart. It won a local 7-11 contest that same year. Took it to the semi's at Ontario Motor Speedway, then, blew up my 1959 Dodge Coronet on the way home. lol

Here is my version of the most modern variation of the Little Red Wagon. I am actually getting ready to remove the body and strip it for repaint because I forgot to remove the windshield center post and cut off the tops of the doors, which weren't there on the real thing.

Ok, here's one that a young kid took his daddy's car out to the drags on the weekends. It's a 62 Buick Electra 225. He wrecked it and started installing used parts to fix it. That's my story and I'm stickin to it.
