Jon Cole Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 The 5-spoke wheels that are available in the Revell '29 pickup have a unique feature, as each spoke appears to have a bolt where the the spoke meets the rim. Any idea what brand of wheel this is? If I wanted to keep the rim chrome, but paint the spokes a cast color, should I also paint the center hub? Thanks.
bigphoto Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Which version do you have? can you post a pic?
Mark Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Where the spokes meet the rim? Unfortunately, those are sink marks. Unfortunate, because those wheels are otherwise excellent. The fix isn't easy...strip the plating from one of each size wheel, fill sink marks, make molds, and cast them.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Dave, I agree with you. I've kept a bunch of these kits just for those wheels and tires with the wide whites too.
Jon Cole Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 Well, I sure don't care to start filling spokes, learn resin casting, and finish this in time for NNL East. As it is, most projects never get finished. Another one joins the heap.
jbwelda Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 i would just look for some replacement wheels...replicas and miniatures of maryland would be a good place to start if you dont have a good spares box.
