cavejohnson Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 All finished! I got a bit delayed on it due to some family issues, but here she is in her final form next to an older build, my Ford LTL9000 (long story behind the sleeper, tanks, and bullbar as to why they're there lol)
Kodiak Island Modeler Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I love the Titan/Astros, and yours is an excellent representation. The stripes look perfect. I really wish that Chevy/GMC had left off the little side lights. I always forget to detail them.
BigBad Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Cool paint scheme! Suits that Chevy just right. I'm lucky to see a real one regularly in my area!
ARTEMIS1759 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Sharp truck. Is it me or are the emblems on the doors a little thick?
cavejohnson Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 I think they're a bit thick, but I also did paint the background black to make the letters stand out, could be an optical illusion or something of the sort.
cwobeaman Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Awesome! Fixing to start one just to pull a Great Dane Extendable trailer.... Will probably hit you up for some help.
Wagoneer81 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Well, for this not being your favoritekind of truck, you most certainly did it justice! You built a VERY good looking Titan!
cavejohnson Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Thanks everyone USMC4810, I can offer some advice right off the bat, the round fuel tanks are a total pain to get on there, I'd go for the square saddle tanks if I was doing it over. Also, the cab is mighty hard to attach to the mounts at the end, It took me a long time to get them on there and get it lined up decently. The rest of the truck went together really well though, I've always had good luck with AMT kits fitting nicely. Save the White Freightliner cabover cab, because of it's odd two piece design
mysterj1 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Nice kit, glad to see the finished pics. Mine is in the works (finally)...amazing what starting a business will do to your schedule. I looked at a few of the Titan's here, I decided to go with the square fuel tanks, too. I have the dayton's on it for now but might swap them out for some 2 hole budds if I get the urge. Again, nice job!
