Ira Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 (edited) HOG VETTE!!! Hog Vette will be a Deals Wheels style Corvette Dragster! I started the Hog Vette a couple of days ago, as a 2 week Challenge to see if I can start and finish a CAR-TOONS Project by June 4, 2012! I started with a Vintage Stink Ray "Glue Bomb". I decided to cut it up after I got a New Funsters Vette! I am going to cross the Vette with a Top Fuel Body from the Valvoline Rear Engine Dragster. More coming Soon!!! Edited June 9, 2012 by Ira
Ira Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 Slimmin' Down The VETTE!!! I cut this section from the side of the Vette Body to reduce its width. Then I replaced the Body Section with a piece of flat plastic. That's a little narrower...
Ira Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 (edited) NOSE JOB For HOG VETTE!!! I started by cutting out the body section where the front axle comes through. Next I cut off the excess back portion. Then I cut the Dragster Body right down the middle. More Coming Soon! Edited May 22, 2012 by Ira
Ira Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 More Nose Work... I cut a triangle of sheet plastic about 3/4" by 5". This will bring the width of the Nose out to fit the Vette Body Section. I turned the Nose over and glued the 4 Sections together. After some more cutting and fitting I attached the Nose and the Body together. I glued the Corvette Section about 3/32" above the height of the Nose. What Next?
Ira Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 BODY FITTING!!! I cut out and attached a sheet plastic triangular shape, up against the edge of the Corvette Body. This makes the Body Parts level. I added a strip of plastic along the bottom edge of the Corvette Body to match it up with the Nose section. I wonder...what kind of Engine should we use?
Ira Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 Great start... Looks crazy already... Thanks Roberto!
Ira Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 (edited) ANOTHER NOSE JOB!!! I didn't like the Dragster Nose so I sliced it off on an angle... Then I cut a piece of plastic to fill-in the New Nose! Now, where is that Front Wing? Edited May 22, 2012 by Ira
Ira Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 VETTE WING!!! I couldn't find the Front Dragster Wings, so I made my own wing. I wanted some of the Corvette Shape up front and the Front Bumper/Grill was Perfect! I cut the Grill off the Bumper. Next I cut and fit sheet plastic to fit into the Bumper/Wing. I glued the plastic into the Bumper/Wing and measured the fit on the Nose. So after some cutting and fitting, I got the New Corvette Wing in place!
Ira Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 Oh boy, goodie. Here we go again ! This will be a Quicky, going to Finish before June 4, 2012 for the CAR-TOONS CONTEST! Here is the Contest Link: http://coffincorner.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=2007&action=display&thread=16869&page=1
Ira Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 SUPERCHARGED ENGINE From SUPER FUZZ!!! I cut the Supercharger off of a Super Fuzz Engine. Next I cut out an area for the Supercharger. Then I glued a piece of plastic to the underside of the body to cover the area. Here is the mock-up with the Supercharger!!!
JasonFL Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 This thing is awesome, I love what your doing with it. That strip of plastic on the top really ties it in nicely and the supercharger looks mean but I only have one question, how come your not using the whole motor?
Hedgehog Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Thumbs up! Incredible build. You got high on styrene addiction againg buddy. Keep on creating:)
Dr. Cranky Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Here comes the GREAT EYE CANDY AGAIN! HA, another wonderful build in the works, Ira. Time for more POPCORN. Keep it going.
Kaleb Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 You know with these builds, I would like to see your house. It must be like a fun house with a slide to exit out. Lol
Ira Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 This thing is awesome, I love what your doing with it. That strip of plastic on the top really ties it in nicely and the supercharger looks mean but I only have one question, how come your not using the whole motor? Thanks Jason! The whole motor would have been too big. I wanted to make the Corvette body stand out, rather than the motor...
