  1. Beautiful! Stunning! Superb!
  2. Can they examine your head while your there? That is some insane work.
  3. Thanks HÃ¥kan, that tells me not to install it on anything but an old Kenworth.
  4. So I think I figured out what direction I am going with this finally. The dump box really wasn't working for me, so I am putting a fifth wheel on it, changing out the wheels and tires, maybe modifying the front bumper, and oh yea, it's going to be yellow.
  5. Yea, a month or so ago a log truck driving friend showed me a picture he took while stuck in traffic. A Swift driver decided to do a u-turn in the middle of a five lane highway and proceeded to sink his drive axles into the soft shoulder just as his 50ft trailer was at a 90 degrees to the road, blocking all five lanes...
  6. Looking forward to following the restorations.
  7. Thanks Vince! Now for the fun part, matching all that paint.... I wont be able to get to a hobby shop for a week or two so this one will sit quiet for awhile. Sure Wish I Finished Training!!!
  8. I have been searching the archives for any discussions on this suspension and have found lots of info on the plastic version but nothing really touched what I was wondering about. My questions are, what years was this available on the 1:1s, and was it a Kenworth only suspension or was it industry wide? With all the different early trucks available now in resin I was wondering if that suspension would be period correct on other trucks than a Kenworth. Thanks!
  9. So moving forward. The new hood came in and I have it in primer which allowed me to get the cab lined up and radiator and air cleaner mounted.
  10. Soak them in the purple pond for awhile and then see what you have.
  11. My pleasure Jeff. Really happy with the cracker box and a HUGE thanks for the 4300 parts ! Also had a great experience with Casey. He provided the Watkins decals I needed.
  12. Glad I could be of help Scott. Very enjoyable transaction and would recommend dealing with him to anyone!
  13. Super clean! Is that a lace effect on the roof? Oh, and hope you fixed that taillight.
  14. I cant imagine even trying to build in this scale.
  15. So while waiting for the 4300 parts I went through the old built ups once again and picked this one out. Super clean and next to no glue or paint used. In fact, after a few hrs at the bench it was almost completely blown apart. So while I start the prep and primer stage I will be thinking of what color I want it. Hmmmm.....
  16. Thanks to DJ (TECHMAN), sending me the steering column and air horns, I now have the interior and cab all finished. I had a minor, well MAJOR, setback. Long story short, in a sleep depraved and frantic 4am morning rush to get out of the house, the entire hood assembly accidentally got recycled. I happened to mention this the next day to Jeff while sorting out the shipping details for that old KW oil field rig and he is sending me a complete replacement hood assembly ! So a big shout out to gotnitro? So cab assembly and no more rats nest out back.
  17. It sure is nice to have all those parts. This model needed half a dozen little parts and they were all in my parts boxes. So things went back together real smooth.....except for the mirrors. Even with old glue points on the model and an instruction sheet, I still do not know if they are right. ....and while going through all the boxes, I found a matching trailer. So the wip continues. I will need new decals though.
  18. Yes please, more pics is better. ?
  19. I really like this one. Great work on the cab and save on the box.
  20. Just wanted to thank TECHMAN for the parts. DJ is a great guy who I have been on forums with for years.
  21. It's not easy being green..... But you sure make it look easy! Great job Kerry!
