  1. iirc ford was going to offer a "super snake" (or something to that effect)option on the mustangs, hence the "ss" badges on the fenders. but i guess in the final hour ford realized what a snafu that would've been and i remember reading about how some cars actually made it to dealerships with the ss badging but ford had them all replaced with 5.0 badges before any were sold.
  2. at least this one is more pleasing to the eyes!
  3. If you're not too concerned about accuracy the kit can be built into a nice looking truck. The side skirts will take some tweaking to fit right but overall it went together nicely.
  4. ok my bad. thats the bumper i was thinking of, i never had the dm800 mixer kit so i didnt realize some parts were carried over into the paystar kit.
  5. one of those paystar kits had a bumper without the guard, i believe it may have been in the mixer kit. and i seem to remember the kit having both bumpers.
  6. thats quite possible. did your kit have the updated grille too? in your pic it appears to be the older style grille.
  7. i have several of the '96 dually kits and they all have the correct interior molded in grey. the only kit i know of that had the '88-94 interior molded in tan was the '93 fleetside kit(and the only kit to have a camper top for the bed).
  8. Unfortunately that kit has been out of production for several years now, ebay is really the only place to find them. Hopefully Italeri will reissue this kit in the near future. The going rate on ebay is usually around a hundred dollars, I'd like to get another one myself but not at those prices.
  9. The only time i care about 1/24 vs. 1/25 is when i'm trying to build a series of a particular vechicle, like for example Ford's f-series pickups. The majority are 1/25 but then there's Monogram's 1/24 offerings(which look huge next to amt's). It would be nice to have all of the generations of f-series in one scale.
  10. i heard california requires them for 53' over the road trailers. i've installed dozens of strehl brand trailerblades (thats what strehl calls them). the customers that i was able to talk to all said that these are needed to make runs to california. strehl claims that theres a 5% savings in fuel economy.
  11. i think ideally a kit should have an artists sketch on the box top, photos of the 1:1 and a built example on the sides and ends. and then do like what round2 does with the parts layout on the botom of the box.
  12. it should have all the necessary parts to build a regular truck. i have the ford, scania and road commander wrecker kits and they all had the extra parts to build regular trucks. the only problem is that the wrecker kits have the smaller, more generic sleepers on them. so if you're using the instructions from the constellation kit be careful on the rear sleeper mount, you're gonna have to move it forward to the next set of mounting slots on the frame.
  13. Monogram didn't do the '90 model year wheels either, which sucks because the mpc/amt wheels are too small to begin with to use on a Monogram kit. With some kitbashing you can do almost every model year and body style of the Monogram c4 vettes. '88 and '90 are about the only years you couldn't accurately do. On a side note the Callaway speedster kit is the only non zr1 kit to have a 6spd trans. I believe 88 or maybe 89 was the first year for the 6 speed.
  14. mid eighties dodge pickups and ramcharger, early sixties ford pickups, fall guy truck re-tooled to include an eight foot bed.
  15. theres a few in the joliet area, both on rte.30. leisure hours hobbies has a decent selection of kits but they cater mostly to rc cars and rpg. walts hobbies has a better selection of kits and paints. and theres also one in berwyn on ogden ave.
  16. the first car that comes to my mind is a 2014 corvette, especially in the greenhouse area.
  17. amt/mpc: a proper fall guy gmc pickup revell: convert the '66 elcamino to a '67
  18. the amt f&f charger was basically the general lee kit with a somewhat 70ish looking grille on it. i hope revell gives us a proper '70 with plenty of options.
  19. i wish round2 or moebius would consider making plastic display cases designed for big rigs. even if just for the tractors, it would really help with displaying your finished rigs.
  20. MPC Hardcastle & McCormick gmc pickup AMT a-team gmc van MPC fall guy gmc pickup MPC doh roscoe's squad car MPC daisy dukes plymouth MPC doh general lee thats all i have for t.v. cars, i hope round2 re-issues the fall guy truck (with the proper grille this time)
  21. an accurate fall guy truck would be nice. boss hogg's(?) cadillac from dukes of hazzard. '68 charger from bullitt
  22. is there any chance we'll see a thermo king precedent series reefer tooled up? imho it would be a smart move to include that with your upcoming smooth side trailer to make it REALLY unique compared to your current trailer.
  23. i agree about this being a stupid idea and a waste of money, but is society getting that lazy where we can't even be bothered to drive our cars anymore? another classic example of technology for technology's sake.
  24. i'd love to see those kitted, especially mid to late eighties. dodge trucks dont get much love in plastic form.
