I'll be there with a vendor table Look for an "old guy" with a gray (matches my hair) Freeport Stadium t shirt
-
Great model I remember seeing him run at Freeport and Islip Speedways in the mid 70's when he and Evans, Bodine & other North East drivers would show up for the extra distance points races.

The CKM has a date change to 8/12/23. Location remains the same

I'll have to ask the local folks about it. I moved to NC in '93 but didn't get back into commercial slot racing until around '05.

I travel roughly 100 miles roundtrip to the track I race at in Archdale,NC. As I see it there are not too many young kids interested in slot cars. There is one youngster of about 13 years old that races occasionally. Next youngest is about in his middle 30"s. The majority of the regulars are 55+ with the majority of the "old timers" being in their mid to late 60's I'm one of them at 69!

Thanks. Handled well but a tick off speed wise compared to some of the other cars. Motor is new, think it needs more run time before it reaches its full potential.

Just finished this up, first race for it is today at Archdale Slot Car Raceway in Archdale, NC. Just need to add the lexan interior when I get to the track. This is a spec class with an H&R chassis, 18,000 rpm motor, either Pro Track or H&R tires. 9/31 gears & 185 gram minimum total weight. Body started out as a $5.00 Glue bomb. Paint is Model Master Tropical Turquoise, Plastic Performance Products wide 5's and decals from my stash.

60 Ford PU is definitely on my to buy list when they come out. At least 3 or more for me. My wish list would be complete if they were able to find the tooling or clone the 62 Ford Galaxie along with either the 67 or 68 Galaxie's.

Same here !

My haul from yesterday at the MDA model show/swap in Roanoke VA. SC/Rambler was missing the body, glass etc but had 98% of the parts with a partially assembled engine & chassis. Most likely going to list the parts (less the box)on the trade forum. Parts would be perfect for someone restoring one. Also got 3 full sets of 5 wheel covers from the original issue AMT 34 Ford PU

Change of plans for me as I will not be selling but plan on going to look for a few kits, parts and check out the contest and full size car show. I'll be around Allen Hilton's table which is near the overhead door facing the contest. I'll be wearing a black sweat shirt with an AMT 25th anniversary patch on it. If you see me say hi. would like to put faces to the names here on the board.

My haul from the Salisbury NC swap yesterday . Had a really good day selling so went and spent part of sales $ on some kits. original AMT 59 El Camino with broken but repairable roof & missing front bumper & taillight. May be up for trade once I figure out what to ask for in trade. 58 TBird promo body, slightly warped in the rear. Should be able to refit rear bumper. Bottom of interior cut out.

Salisbury NC Model Car Swap Meet February 18th 2023

As far as I know this is the only swap meet for NC in February. Close to 60 8 foot tables of models for sale, a definite do not miss event. -

My scores from the Salisbury NC swap meet today. I was setup as a vendor and did fairly well with sales so.... The 72 Chevelle, 70 Buick Wildcat & the 40 Ford SD are all sealed in original bags. 37 Chevy is factory sealed. Bought 8 plus sized used display cases for a few dollars over what a new standard display case is selling for now. Also found a complete NOS Parma 4 inch FCR chassis. Got one of my "Holy Grail's" with the 62 Galaxie! Very restorable but missing the firewall, rear glass, steering wheel and the fender ornaments. Going to try using the fender ornaments from the 61 or 63 Galaxie, if not I'll fill them in and do a mild custom. 40 Ford box is near mint plus it came with the unobtainable original headers and coned wheel covers with near perfect chrome.
