Hey guys, can I get in with an already built? I did this on in the 80's, Then last year I popped it all apart and redid it. Step into the way back machine and recall "Hardcastle and McCormack" and their Coyote. Mine is without the yellow pinstripe.
Gotta get the camera out for more pics, the rims I got from a fellow modeler when we were in Bosnia on a deployment, I think they are from a camaro. The pinstripes are the molded trim I went over with a purple sharpie. they look good but im not sure if they ever dry, look closely at the smudge on the grill below the emblem
Thanks guys, the rims came in the Revell Acura Integra Type R kit, and yes I painted the white when doing the primer then masked them and shot the purple, all with a rattlecan. As for hood up, Ill have to take more pics, might be a little while.
I made a custon corvette style rear suspension from hypodermic needles, dropped tube front axle from copper wire, added a v8 engine, and more. This taught me that scratchbuilding is alot of work. Hope you like it.
This is your first. It took til model ten or twelve for me to be brave enough to paint the model. You are starting out great. Just like everone has said, the more you do the better you get. Great Job.
I have painted chrome rims with the red sharpie, makes them look like red tinted chrome. The rims went on the Honda Civic Hatchback tuner model painted red.
I, like most, have a lot of rims that are left from my builds. I need tires for them. Sooo...my idea is to mold them from their originals. I could use ideas on how to mold them and keep their shape. More specifically, the inner lips on some of them? I figure a two piece mold but am stumped on where the break should be. Also what would be closest to the material the manufacturers use?
Welcome Avenger, I was in the 5th grade, dad bought me the Chevy Bison snap kit. Uhhhhhhh??? That was in 1980??? This hobby kept me off the street and out of trouble. That is a great thing. I hope you enjoy this hobby, and remember always, it is supposed to be fun.
