Snake you probably did put up a "before" pic of the 70 Camaro, IIRC a green one ?. I like the sound of your plans, it will look great in copper.
-
Danny what part numbers would I need to order from you to get that steel wheel and tyre set up ? they look great Thanks

Without meaning to sound dumb can a decent stock version be built from this MPC/Round 2 re-release or not?, I gather from what UncleScott mentioned you need the decals from Keith Marks, what else is needed to build a semi accurate stock 73 Mustang?. I have the kit I just don't have enough knowledge on the 71-73 Mustangs

I'd totally agree with that Snake, the headlight buckets on my newer issue were terrible, as is the chassis/firewall issue. I did build that older mold anout 15 years ago and it built up pretty well, but you can see the front is miles off. Ive got a 1970 original untouched annual in the pile to do someday, the one with the vinyl roof and single front bumper, Ive seen your version of that one before on here.

Beautiful work Bill, and goes to show how good those old annual kits can look with some patience and skill. Id be very proud of that one. Oh and Im another fan of building the oldies I have 20 odd vintage kits and they are all going to be built, Ive done 2 already.

Great job Bo, I really like it, massive improvement adding those thin chrome strips to the kit grille too.

Great job on the 62 Bill, this is one of my all time favourite kits. I have this one and a few others to do someday.

You've got to get better Harry, Ive bought a load of mirrors to put on my mirrorless models ! No seriously thoughts are with you and your family. -
That looks very smart Jonathon, great work, did you have to alter the kit suspension at all ?, I only ask as all the ones Ive seen built so far ride a bit too high, and that's the only thing that stopped me buying the kit.

Moebius '65 Mercury Comet Cyclone news

I just hope the ride height on the stock version has been addressed, the green built test shot on the side of the box shows it to be riding like a 4WD Lol. But as I mentioned this is a test shot so I'm sure all will be good on release, and I'm really looking forward to this kit. -
Really enjoyed building this kit, I've built a few of the Tamiya Minis over the years, and I have to say this kit is slightly better. I built this one for the 2016 Cancer awareness build on Youtube, it's painted Holts rattle can blue, not a real Mini colour but very close. box stock all the details you see come with the kit. no mirrors ! they never had them from the factory.
-
I received this old kit from a mate of mine, he had painted the body a red colour and then put it back in the box for a few years. I stripped the dull red paint back to bare plastic, and repainted it rattle can Holts dark metallic blue, it's actually a very nice kit for an AMT. The chrome on the wheels had worn through so I repainted them a steel colour. it's built box stock, no wiring just detail painting. Comments good or bad welcome ?

Ive only ever seen one over here Dan, and that was at the big NEC classic car show.

James, it's a good kit just needs a lot of adjustment, don't do what I did and glue the front and rear panels on first it makes it incredibly difficult to get the chassis in on final fitting. On the dash, yes you need to cut about 2-3mm off the leading edge of the dash, to make the chassis sit down correctly. Work a bit at a time and do plenty of dry fitting of the windshield dash/interior and chassis, you'll get there ok in the end. Good luck buddy.

Thanks for all the kind comments ......I have to confess I put those hood stripes on the wrong way around on the hood, I could kick myself now as it's so obvious. By the time it got to putting the decals I just wanted it done and I didn't pay attention. Oh well lessen learned ha ha !

I'll have to check later .....you may have a point there , Im sure when I put them on they were straight.

The 1970 Camaro's have always been one of my favourite muscle cars of all time, I just love the lines of the car. Ive had 2 of the older issues of this kit in the stash for a long time and thought it would be about time I dug one out to build. Overall it could be such a great kit but its let down by poor kit engineering in places, the fit between the top of the dash and the bottom of the windshield stops the chassis from fitting properly on the front end, this left me pulling my hair out after trimming and test fitting about 40 times !. Then to top it all the paint went very wrong on the roof, Im not sure if its too visible in the photos but its there, I just wanted the darn thing built so here it is box stock, with as close as I could get with UK paints to Cortez Silver.
