Any chance you have any photos other than the ones posted.. I am doing a frame off restoration of a 68 with big block and wanted to replicate the u2 chase car theme. I have only seen the one picture and even lockheed public affirs folks don't have any pics of the u8 el camino. I was stationed at lean ab and saw them all the time but back then you didn't take a camera on the flight line. Thanks I advance

Tail gate on 69 and later has lightsinthe tailgate but the 68 did not. Easy to convert 69 and later back to 68 by even on the real thing by simply putting patch over the light hole thus making the tailgate smooth. Small but important difference. Have fun!!

Hi all Looking long and hard for any pictures of the 1968 el camino the AIRFORCE used to assist the U2 IN LANDING. I am doing a frame off restoration of the real thing and having a really hard time finding any pictures of any quality. I have built and collected every 68 el camino model I could find along with about 20 different versions of matchbox cars and one radio controllled model put out by radio shack while looking on the web came across a user on this forum that says he has or may have a couple of pictures. Problem is I can't find that members name again. Any help from anyone will be greatly appreciated. I know the actual car/truck was painted strata blue. The airforce used them for a few years before moving to the mustang, Cameron and GTOs Thanks in advance. Any pictures regardless of quality will help.
